How to donate furniture to CFR

If you have good quality used furniture and household items that you no longer want, you can donate them to CFR. We collect most items for free and display them in our warehouse in Colwyn Bay, where anybody is welcome.

I would like to donate furniture. What do I have to do?
Please call (01492) 534612. We will ask you about the items you have to donate and arrange a date to pick them up from you.

What sort of things do you take?
We take all types of furniture i.e Dining tables and Dining chairs, chests of drawers, sofas & suites, beds, coffee tables, wardrobes, Office furniture. White Goods.

Are there any restrictions on what you will take?
All donated goods are collected at the driver’s discretion. We only take items that are in good, clean condition. We can only take sofas, armchairs, beds and dining chairs with fabric on them if they carry fire labels. All upholstered furniture, including mattresses, must have a fire label attached. On sofas and armchairs this will read: 'Complies with the furniture and furnishings (fire) (safety) regulations 1988.' Mattresses and divan bases must have a blue framed label which refers to BS7177 sewn into the end wall. Free Collection for upto 10 Items of furniture. We collect Electrical & White Goods at a charge of £ 6 per item. We collect Refrigeration at a charge of £ 15 per item.

What happens once the furniture has been collected?
We inspect and display the furniture in our warehouse. Anyone can come along to our warehouse. Our aim is to move as much furniture as possible in order to keep items out of landfill and to provide a quick turnaround of stock so that there is always plenty of choice. All Electrical & White Goods are refurbished, tested then cleaned & carry a 3 month guarantee.

Where does the money go?
CFR is a not-for-profit organisation. The money taken goes back into CFR to help us continue to provide our valuable services to the community.

Who can buy furniture from CFR?
CFR supplies low cost furniture and household items throughout Conwy County, and the surrounding areas Anybody can visit Showroom in Douglas Road, Colwyn Bay. We are open from 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 10.30am to 3.30pm. We aim to supply things as cheaply as possible.

Where does the furniture come from?
The furniture we supply has been donated by members of the public. We also have contracts with leading manufacturers for “B” grade and returned stocks of 3 Piece Suites, Beds & White Goods. It is of a consistently high quality and complies with the current Trading Standards Fire and Safety Regulations.

What about delivery?
